Are you a Christian?

What does it mean to be a Christian in the 21st Century? We have an abundance of material wealth in the west. Are we using what we have to fulfill the mission of Jesus Christ, or to maintain a comfortable standard of living?

Do we have a responsibility to relieve injustice, poverty and suffering in other parts of the world?

Are you a Christian? Tell me "yes" or "no"
'Cause if you are a Christian, why don't you let it show?
By loving others the way that Jesus taught -
considering his gift, it isn't asking a lot.

Are you a Christian, or do you even know?
Not your denomination or the church where you go.
Where sitting in a pew is really all you do -
oh, and you drop a few dollars to pay the guy in the collar.

Are you a Christian? Would you die for the name?
Hey! Don't touch that dial, what happened to your smile?
Cause there are parts of the world where just speaking Jesus' name
can get you locked up, or even blown away

Are you a Christian, behind your Christian smile?
Are you following the narrow path of self-denial?
Or are you padding your nest, saying "man, am I blessed!"
Look at what you're cherishing while half the world is perishing!
